MBS Residential Workshop 2025 – Inspiring Minds, Building Leaders

The Faculty of Graduate Studies, University of Colombo, hosted the Residential Workshop for the students of Master of Business Studies (MBS) [online and onsite] programme (2024/2025) on the 9th and 10th of August, 2025 at Tangerine Beach Hotels PLC, Kalutara, organized by Professor R. Senathiraja, the Coordinator of the MBS programme. This immersive two-day programme combined sessions focused on academic enrichment, leadership insights, and personal well-being of our students to create a truly holistic learning experience out of the classroom environment.
Key Highlights:

  • CEO Forum – Featured an inspiring panel of distinguished industry leaders, including Mr. Lalith Kahatapitiya, Chairman of K.I.K. Group of Companies, and Dr. Dinesh Hamangoda, Country Head- Nepal Hemas International Business.
  • Outbound Training (OBT) – A series of engaging team-building challenges that enhanced participants’ collaboration, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities, while strengthening peer connections.
  • Yoga Session – A revitalizing morning session that promoted mindfulness, stress management, and overall wellness, helping participants start the day with focus and clarity.

The workshop not only deepened professional competencies but also fostered networking, companionship, and personal growth among participants. It served as a unique platform for students to connect theory with practice, preparing them to excel as leaders in an ever-evolving business landscape.
