International Women’s Day 2021
University of Colombo celebrates International Women’s Day 2021 under the theme “Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world” on March 08, 2021, at the Auditorium, Faculty of Graduate Studies. Ms. Kimarli Fernando, the Chairperson, Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau was the chief guest and Ms. Bimshani Jasin Arachchi, the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Police Ombudsman Range at Sri Lanka Police was the guest of honour. The keynote address at the occassion was delivered by Professor Arosha S. Adikaram, Acting Director of the Center for Gender Equality at the University of Colombo. Vice Chancellor Professor Chandrika Wijeyaratne, the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies; Professor Nayani Melegoda addressed the gathering. Sri Lanka’s own Soprano Ms. Kishani Jayasinghe performed at the occassion. The University academic and executive staff members were invited to the event.
