Introduction
Introducing new products, processes, services, and systems is key to ensuring a competitive advantage for business enterprises and sustainable growth for the economy. Nowadays, these innovations are enabled through technological advancements. Thus, in today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape, there is a growing need for skilled professionals who can adeptly navigate the complexities of emerging technologies and harness innovation through successful strategies. Therefore, the areas technology and innovation management are essential for contemporary business development and sustainability. Against this backdrop, we are proposing a new multidisciplinary degree programme namely, Master of Technology and Innovation Management (MTIM) classified at SLQF level 9, which integrates two distinct yet critical subject areas: technology and innovation management.

- Apply strategic thinking to manage innovation processes within organizations.
- Evaluate and implement technology-driven solutions for business challenges.
- Lead cross-functional teams in innovation projects.
- Foster a culture of creativity and continuous improvement.

- A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University/ Institution in the relevant field of study; OR
- Any other Bachelor’s degree, with prior learning/ work experience in the relevant field of study; OR
- Postgraduate Diploma (SLQF 8) from a recognized University/ Institution or an equal Qualification acceptable to the Faculty Board of the FGS and the Senate of the University of the Colombo with prior learning/ work experience in the relevant field of study; OR
- Professional qualification from a recognized professional body acceptable to the Faculty Board of the FGS and Senate of the University of Colombo with prior learning/ work experience in the relevant field of study; OR
- Completion of NVQ level 7 (equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in SLQF Level 6) with relevant work experience in the field of study as determined by the Faculty Board of the FGS and Senate of the University of Colombo.
AND - A good knowledge of the English language and satisfactory performance at a selection test and / or selection interview.
